New Summer Family Trails Launch Tomorrow!

Looking for something fun (and free!) to do with the kids this summer?

Starting 1 July, three brand new family-friendly walking trails are launching across Swindon — each designed to help you explore the town’s hidden history, natural beauty, and local landmarks.

Each trail is between 1 and 3 miles long — perfect for little legs and big imaginations. Trail leaflets will be available to pick up from Swindon’s main libraries (Central, West, North, Highworth & Park) and other partner venues.

Get your walking shoes on and discover a different side of Swindon this summer!

This morning, we had the privilege of supporting the amazing local Green Shoots team, alongside Cllr Stanka Adamcova and a local Resident to help a resident bring their garden back under control.

The real heroes are the Green Shoots volunteers – giving their time and energy to make a real difference in people’s lives.

Thank You for Supporting Armed Forces Day

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to show their support for our Armed Forces this weekend.

It was fantastic to see so many people from across our community come together to recognise the dedication, sacrifice, and service of our military personnel — past and present.

Cllrs at all levels from across the Borough were proud to join residents at this local event — lending a hand, meeting with veterans and families, and celebrating the incredible work our Armed Forces do every day.

A huge thank you as well to the amazing volunteers, stallholders, and Swindon Borough Council — such a fantastic day wouldn’t have been possible without you!

We’re proud to stand with our service personnel — and even prouder to be part of a community that honours them with such warmth and appreciation.

Join us on Saturday 28 June for a special Armed Forces Day celebration at Lydiard Park, marking 80 years since the end of WWII.

Hosted by Swindon Borough Council, this free family event is a chance to honour our Armed Forces community — including serving personnel, veterans, cadets and their families.
